This is the sheer side of a hill. Guatemalans make use of whatever land they can. If it is steep, they terrace in order to be able to grow crops. 60% of labor is involved in some kind of agriculture.

In the highlands of Guatemala, 3,500 students were enrolled into the CoEd self-sustaining textbook program for 2005. Travellers from the UK and US participated in school inagurations. The tour lasted from 2/18/2005 to 2/27/2005. School year begins in Janurary. No textbooks available until this program, assisting grades 7th thru 9th.
