In some Guatemalan towns, children are taught not to look at the camera because people might be using the pictures to later steal the children.

In the highlands of Guatemala, 3,500 students were enrolled into the CoEd self-sustaining textbook program for 2005. Travellers from the UK and US participated in school inagurations. The tour lasted from 2/18/2005 to 2/27/2005. School year begins in Janurary. No textbooks available until this program, assisting grades 7th thru 9th.
